When it comes to removing hair on a man, no part of the body is taboo. But if you can't get in to see your favorite waxer...how about getting rid of back hair the old-fashioned way... with a shave.
Step 1: You Will Need?!
- pre-shave oil
- shaving cream
- a blade razor - baKBlade
- a helper
Step 2: Prep Your Skin
Back in the day, it was common to see men sitting in barber chairs with hot towels wrapped around their faces. This wasn't just for relaxation- under those hot towels facial pores opened, and facial hair would stiffen away from the skin. And, steam-softened skin made the razor glide more easily.
This same principle applies to your back. It's a lot easier to shave after you've taken a bath or shower. If you don't want to feel any stubble hours after your shave, don't skip this step.
Step 3: Oil Up
Lightly massage pre-shave oil onto your back. This step is necessary.
Now you're ready for the next step.
Step 4: Brush Up
Gently dip the moistened brush tip into a pot of quality shaving cream. The shaving brush bristles will lift the hair up off the skin.
Step 5: Lather Up
Starting at your shoulders, work down, moving the brush in small circles. The foam will build into a rich lather and should end up feeling like whipped cream.
Step 6: A Light Hand
Beginning at the top of your shoulders, slowly shave with the grain-not against. Don't press down hard - keep the pressure light and easy.
Rinse your blade. Don't cheat on this step either-hair caught in the blade will only interfere with the next shaving pass.
Step 7: Soothe Your Skin
Rinse and dry your back. Using your pre-shave oil as your moisturizer adds a bit of sheen and softens skin for maximum comfort.
